Dressing the children

Choose outfits for the flower girl and ring bearer which are comfortable but still stay with the overall style of your wedding. The fabric shouldn’t scratch or irritate the skin, and shoes have to be comfortable enough to wear throughout a long day of activities. It might be a good idea to let the children wear their clothes and shoes before the wedding so they can break them in and get used to them as long as they very careful not to dirty them.

Flower girl

You have many options when it comes to choosing your flower girl’s dress. It can be similar your bridesmaids’ dresses in color, style or length. It can be a miniature version of or similar to the bride’s dress. Another option is to have your flower girls wear a party dress with lace or beading. Whichever you choose, be practical. Keep the dress length reasonable so she doesn’t trip and make sure it is age-appropriate.

There are several places to find flower-girl dresses. In addition to bridal shops, you might also find them in children’s stores, catalogs and department stores.

Ring bearer

There are several ways that the ring bearer can be dressed. One of the most popular ways is have him dressed the same as or similar to the groom and his attendants (often a tuxedo). You could also let him wear his own suit with your color scheme and a bow tie that matches the groomsmen’s. If he is very young, you can even try a pair of dressy shorts with a dress shirt and a bow tie.

A more traditional choice for the ring bearer is a satin or velvet suit, usually in a dark color.
